  • comparisons
  • your childhood memories
  • your recent past memories
  • your current situation or opinions
  • popular activities or opinions in your country
  • things you can do /  don’t do / do often / would like to do

Wishing you all the best for 2023!!

  13. Kashish says

Your material has helped a lot.
I Have my exam on 31st May 2022.
But I just don’t feel confident enough in speaking.
I am trying to tell myself not to worry, but I end up having bad thoughts.

    • Remember that part 1 is all about your own life and your country. This is the same as part 2. The questions and topics relate to everyday life. You don’t need to think of ideas, just answer the questions and chat. The aim is to show you enjoy speaking in English. Imagine you are meeting the examiner in a cafe and the two of you start chatting. Be open, friendly and chatty. The examiner will move on the next question when he or she wants – so just let the examiner guide you and interrupt you when they want to. Part 3 is more like writing task 2 essay topics – so if you’ve prepared for writing task 2, you’ll have loads of ideas about broader world issues. Remember part 3 is about the world in general, not about yourself. Relax, enjoy and be chatty!! Good luck!

  14. hello Liz, I have gone through the above topics, My test is on the 28th of May. Let’s see how it goes. I am scared.

    • Try to relax. It isn’t possible to predict all topics for the speaking test, but just remember that they are all everyday topics. You are not being tested on your knowledge. Each question is a chance to speak and show your English. So, be natural, chatty and enjoy the test!! Good luck!

    • Awesome!! Not an easy topic. But at the same time, it’s a topic that is part of our daily lives. IELTS Speaking Part 1 is all about your daily life and people’s daily lives in general. Their topics are universal and go beyond culture. So, anything you do in a day could be a topic: looking at a mirror, looking at the sky, rain, laughter, shoes, boredom, time, numbers, names etc. The more you think about your life, the better. Good luck with your results 🙂
