IELTS Materials, Information and Advice on ieltsliz.com

My website and app contain information and advice about the IELTS test. While I endeavour to keep the information up to date and correct, I make no representations or warrenties of any kind, expressed or implied, about the completeness, accuracy or reliability with respect to the information contained on the website or app. Any reliance you place on such information is your sole responsibility. You are recommended to take responsibility to check details directly with IELTS through their website: ielts.org or through the British Council or IDP.

The advice I offer regarding exam techniques is based on my own personal opinion and professional experience to help you reach your potential score. Do not confuse advice with exam rules. You are under no obligation to follow my advice. I do not offer any guarantees of IELTS band score results.

This website and my app are not affiliated or endorsed by IELTS, Cambridge ESOL, the British Council or IDP.  This site is an independent site created by an independent teacher for the purposes of providing tips and lessons for people preparing for their IELTS exam. By using this website, you agree that you fully understand that Liz (Elizabeth Ferguson), this website and my app have no affiliation, approval or endorsement by any IELTS owner.

I am a professional, qualified teacher who has taught English at the British Council as well as other schools, and has been teaching overall for 18 years. I completed the IELTS examiner training course in 2008. Since then, I have focused exclusively on teaching IELTS exam skills and English for IELTS.

All my materials have been written for IELTS candidates to provide practice lessons for IELTS exam preparation. The pages on my site do not contain authentic IELTS tests, they contain free practice exercises and lessons designed by myself based on the IELTS test format and question types.

While it is useful to use my materials to practise and develop your IELTS skills, you should also practise at least one full authentic IELTS test under exam conditions – this is essential IELTS preparation. You can find free authentic IELTS practice tests on this page: http://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/prepare-test/free-practice-tests.

The materials on my website and youtube channel have been written by myself and are copyrighted to me with the exception of:

  1. Articles: Some articles have been sourced from online magazines or other informative websites for the purpose of creating an IELTS reading or listening lesson based on common IELTS topics. The source of these articles have been given and I recommend that you extend your reading by using those links to read the full article as many of my lessons are based on adaptions..
  2. Writing task 1 charts: Not all charts, tables, diagrams etc have been created by myself. Some charts have been sourced online or are authentic IELTS tasks published by IELTS Cambridge English for your use. In such cases, I have given the source. The lessons, exercises, tips and model answers attached to the charts have all been created by myself to help you grasp the fundamentals of IELTS.
  3. Pictures: Many topic based lessons come with pictures to create more interest. No pictures have been designed by myself, they have all been sourced online.
  4. Test details and band score tables are from the original source as they are factual information about the IELTS test.

Copyright: My materials (with the exceptions listed above), audios, videos, model answers, exercises and tips have all been created by myself in order to help students understand and learn techniques useful for tackling the IELTS test.  My materials are for use on my website only.
