  7. hello Liz,well I have this question that what happens when we get a good point on the test I mean does the university gonna support us their? where are we gonna stay.you know honestly I dont have the money so I want to know about it all.please answer me.If you answer me you are gonna save my life .thanks

    • My website offers information and lessons for the IELTS test. That’s all. You will need to contact each university and talk to them directly or with a student advice centre.

      • Hi Liz,

First of all great work!! You are really helping so many students. My question is that if we’re confused for any answers in listening or reading. Can we slashed down and give answers .Example: Mosquitoes/ Malaria.
Please answer this ..its a big time confusion for me.
        Thanks !

        • You can’t give two answers and hope that one is right. This is a test. Your answer is either 100% correct or it is wrong.

        thanks liz

    • Hi Hannah,

first of all, the IELTS test and any other English test has nothing to do with the university you are applying to. It is simply a standardised test to assess your proficiency in the english language and to provide a means to measure whether you reach the necessary skill to attend university/college/school etc. What you are asking for heavily depends on the University or (more generally speaking) on the country that your desired university belongs to. Many european countries offer subsidization, student loans etc. for everyone. But e.g. UK-based universities require a hefty sum of money for enrolment alone – not taking into account any accomodation costs and living expenses. Look for scholarships and as Liz already told you –> contact a student advice centre. Do your best on the IELTS test, that will increase your chance to acquire a scholarship! But always bear in mind that really the test has nothing to do with the actual university.

    Hy Liz,
I am bit taking trouble for answering the speaking part 3??

    • Prepare lots of ideas for topics so that you have plenty to say. Remember that the examiner doesn’t actually mark your ideas, just your English – the more English you give, the better. Give plenty of examples and just keep chatty. The speaking test is informal so chat a lot 🙂

    • What if examiner ask me about any sport in which i am not interested to talk about or having a very little knowledge?
Or if examiner ask me about my favorite TV show but i don’t watch TV?
Then how can we give answers to those questions?

      • Just because you don’t like something or don’t watch doesn’t mean you can’t talk about what other people think about it. For part 1, just be open, honest and direct – then let the examiner guide the questioning. Each question is a chance for your to showcase your English in a natural way – your knowledge is NOT being tested – only your level of English.

        • What if we are not able to hear the examiner repeatedly? Can i ask to repeat the question ❓

          • If you can’t hear the examiner, you must say that. You must always be very clear. You can ask the examiner to speak louder and you can repeat this request. It is an informal Speaking test so be natural and be yourself.

  12. Good job Liz. keep it going please. Love you!

    • Thanks 🙂

        • You can build vocabulary for free by researching model essays online and debate websites. You can use ideas and language from those sources. I have produced an “Ideas for Essay Topics” e-book which covers ideas and vocabulary for over 150 essay topics. That might help you: https://elizabethferguson.podia.com/
