Hi, my name is Elizabeth Ferguson but please call me Liz.
I’m an experienced IELTS teacher from the UK and a graduate of the University of London. I have been teaching for about 23 years and for the last 16 years I have specialised, exclusively, in IELTS. I did my teacher training in New Zealand in 2001. Since then, I have taught in a number of countries: England, Spain, New Zealand, South Korea, China and Vietnam, where I taught at both International House (Apollo) and the British Council. Don’t ask me which country I enjoyed most – I enjoyed them all and have felt very welcome in all the countries I have lived in and travelled to.
In 2008, I completed my IELTS examiner training. I now currently live in the UK and work part time on this site. You can find the story behind how and why I build this website on this page: My Personal Story. My aim is to continue providing you with good quality lessons, tips and advice to help you with your IELTS preparation. If you have any suggestions for lessons, I am always happy to hear.
In my free time, I enjoy reading classical literature, historical books and books about mindfulness. I’m also keen on exercising and nature. Whenever I get the chance, I can be quite a globe trotter 🙂
Currently I am battling a serious long-term illness, which is the reason I have only been working sporadically for the last few years. However, I hope that 2024 will be a better year to enable me to get back to work and get back to helping you all much more.
I hope you find my website useful for your IELTS preparation. Good luck with your test! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🙂
All the best
Liz
