Advantages & Disadvantages of Zoos

Read the paragraphs below and spot the spelling mistakes. Then decide how the words should be correctly spelled.

There are a number of reasons why it is wrong to put wild animals in zoos. Firstly, wild animals are not domisticated and should be free to roam around their naturol habitate. Putting them in confinned spaces in zoos means that they will never be able to return to the wild again. Secondly, animals have naturol instinkts which they develop from living in the wild and pass down to their own off spring. These instincts will gradualy fade and never return if they are kept in capivity.

On the other hand, keeping animals in zoos does serve some useful porposes. Zoos can serve a way to protect indangered species. Many species are faceing dwinling numbers due to distruction of their habitat or from disease so by keeping them in zoos, they are protected from extiction. Another reason why zoos can be useful is that they can serve as a way to educate the public. Most people will never come into contract with such a range of species in their lives. So, by having zoos, people are able to experiance seeing them and also learn about them. Hopefully this will help with the pretection of animals in the future as people will learn to appreciate animals.

  15. Can we use some words of French in writing task of ielts?
For instance ~ It’s a cliche’ that money plays a pivotal role in the humaine la vie.

    • If you can find the word in an English dictionary, you can use it. If it is not in an English dictionary, don’t use it. This is an English language test so use English only. Cliche is an English word (I know the origin is French but it now also part of the English language): http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/cliche. Make a list of the words you are thinking of then try to find them in an English dictionary.

  21. Hello mam.
I had attempted a test during few months ago and i got 6 BANDS in writing module whereas i want to reach a target of 7 bands in writing module.
I astonish to see those students who got 8 in writing module.
So my reading module have not much better and its my week zone.
I can enhance my overall band score via writing and speaking and a little bit in listening.
So please give me some suggestions about this.

    • You need to work on your level of English. You must be able to produce and understand band score 7 level of English which at present you don’t seem to be able to. So, spend time strengthening your English language instead of thinking of IELTS. You should not book your next test until your IELTS practice score is hitting band 7 frequently.
      Liz

  22. Hi how you can help if I need someone to check my writing and teach me reading I need to get 7 band but I’m not getting only 5 please you can give lessons and how much I have to pay I’m from Oman thanks

    • Unfortunately, I don’t offer private lessons or essay marking this year. You can buy some IELTS writing lessons from my course: http://subscriptions.viddler.com/IELTSLizStore but I must warn you that these lessons focus on high band score writing techniques. But the lessons will not change your level of English. To get a high score in IELTS, you must have both excellent English and the right techniques. If you are getting only band 5 at present, this is because your level of English is too low. Therefore, my lessons may not help you so much. My lessons are for higher level students.
