  1. Hi Liz!

I did my Speaking exam today and at one point during the Part 2, I lagged for a good 5-10 seconds. I thought my 1-2 minutes was up but the examiner urged me to speak some more and I did, thankfully. I recovered, picked up myself and spoke again.

Overall, I am confident with my Speaking test except for that one unfortunate part. I know it would affect my mark but I really do hope my performance from the rest of the test made up for it.

Still hoping to get my target score, fingers crossed!

    • Your score is based on your overall performance rather than each part. Wait for your results and hopefully all will be fine 🙂

  2. Which speaking section has more weightage?

    • All are equal. They are not marked separately. Your score is decided at the end of the test based on your overall performance throughout.

  3. Kinjal Trivedi says

Can you tell us about the poisonous plant in cue card?

    • The main topic is plants. You can talk about either a poisonous plant or if you don’t know one, a plant that isn’t poisonous.

  4. Geraldine Cifuentes says

    Leafy, solar, courtyard, aliveness, blossom.

  5. Good afternoon Liz

Today during the speaking exam (part 2) I answered all the questions and then concluded my speech. However, examiner glanced at his watch and asked ,Could you give some more information?,
Is it bad or nothing to worry about?
    I am sooo concerned
    Please help me
    Thank you in advance

    • You are allowed 2 mins to talk and the examiner was offering you the full 2 mins – it has no impact on your score – it is part of the testing system.

  6. Dear Liz,

I’m so happy to see this information for IELTS aspirants.
Thank you from bottom of my heart.
